In 1271 17-year-old Marco Polo started on a journey to China with his father and older brother. After a long and grueling journey that led through Jerusalem and Mesopotamia and over the Silk Road they reached the court of Kublai Khan in 1275.In The Voyages of Marco Polo players recreate this journey with each player having a different character from history with a special power in the game. The game is played over five rounds. Each round the players roll their five personal dice and take turns performing actions by placing their dice onto the board. Players may choose from a variety of actions each require the use of one or more dice: collecting resources or money acquiring contracts traveling on the map or using a special action granted by a city. When traveling each player begins at Venice and can decide between several routes eastward all the way to Beijing. When a player stops at a city they place a trading post there giving them access to extra actions or resources for the rest of the game. The higher the value of the dice used for an action the better the options that may be chosen but also the more money the player must pay if an opponent has already chosen the same action. After five rounds the game ends with players receiving extra victory points for having trading posts in Beijing fulfilling the most contracts and having trading posts in the cities on secret goal cards that each player gets at the start of the game. This game should not be confused with Marco Polo Expedition which has the same German title.

China 1570. China is under the reign of the Longqing Emperor of the Ming Dynasty. He inherited a country in disarray after years of mismanagement and corruption. He resided in the Forbidden city which was the seat of many emperors under the Ming Dynasty. Constructed from 1406 to 1420 the complex consists of 980 buildings and covers 72 ha (over 180 acres). It is also under the Ming Dynasty that the Great Wall of China was rebuilt fortified and expanded. Around this period China was under heavy attack from the Mongols so maintaining the Great Wall was essential. Most of what we now have left of the Great Wall we owe to the Ming dynasty. The country was already famous for its very intricate bureaucracy but this also led to a lot of corruption. Even though the penalties for corruption were very high the highest Officials of the Forbidden City would pretend to uphold the ban on corruption by accepting gifts of petitioners and returning one of seemingly lower value.Gùgōng uses this extraordinary custom as its basis. Players take on the role of powerful Chinese families trying to gain influence and power by exchanging gifts with Officials. The gift cards you offer as a player have to be of a higher value than the one you receive forcing you to make strategic choices regarding which actions you want to take each turn. You will travel around China sail down the Grand Canal purchase precious jade help construct the Great Wall secure advantages through decrees influence the game through intrigue and ultimately receive an audience with the emperor. If only 1 player succeeds in doing so he wins. If several players succeed the player with the most VPs among those players wins the game.—description from the publisher

The Arte di Calimala — the guild of cloth finishers and merchants in foreign cloth — was one of the greater guilds of Florence who arrogated to themselves the civic power of the Republic of Florence during the Late Middle Ages. The woolen cloth trade was the engine that drove the city’s economy and the members of the Calimala were the elite of Florence.Throughout its long history the Arte di Calimala supervised the execution of artistic and architectural works. Most Florentine guilds performed such activities but the Calimala distinguished itself from other guilds through the number and prestige of the projects and the sites administered including the construction and decoration of some of the major churches of the city.Players of Calimala are cloth merchants in medieval Florence with a number of trusted employees that they assign to various streets within the city to carry out actions. (Each street connects two places where particular actions can be taken.) While taking these actions players produce and deliver cloth and contribute to the construction and decoration of various buildings across the city. Employees stay on their assigned places for a while carrying out their actions whenever the street is activated and eventually are promoted into the city council triggering a scoring phase.Depending on the number of players each player has a number of action discs. In turn order they can put one on a space between two actions performing both actions and activating all other discs on the same space. When the fourth disc is placed on an action space the lowest one is promoted to the city council which triggers a scoring. After the last action disc is placed or the last scoring phase in the council is triggered the game ends. The positions of the action spaces and sequence of scoring phases vary from game to game making each game very different. Secret scoring objectives and action cards add uncertainty.

The more cards drafted the less money earned to build floors of the houses. The player then pays to play up to three of their cards. When a three-story house is complete a scoring card is added underneath the completed house.Tourist cards score points for things like the number of cats visible on the house the number of potted plants or other similar conditions. The resident cards will score points for larger areas like for the number of pedestrians walking up and down the street; for the number of different shops along the canal; or other horizontal sections of the player's tableau. There are point penalties if houses are mismatched colors if two neighboring houses are the same color or if there are boarded up windows on a card. When a player completes all five houses in their section of Burano the game ends after all players have had an equal number of turns. The player with the most points wins.

You are sloths — cuddly lazy and oh well slothful. All animals (including humans) like to take vacations so everyone is together at a country resort. We sloths are sitting around of course while all the other animals are running throughout the resort. We want to look around too and traveling around the resort to pick up tasty leaves would be great — but running around ourselves is just too tedious. All the other animals are having fun and we want that too but...we are so slothful. And then we have an idea: We'll let ourselves be carried around by the other animals thus getting around nicely. The other animals have so much energy that they'll even gladly carry us. They aren't slothful! Which of us sloths will be the first to get through the entire country and be victorious? We are ambitious but so lazy!Fast Sloths (a.k.a. Faultier in German) is a race game that at its core is a classic pick-up-and-deliver game — except that we ourselves are the cargo being delivered. We are being carried along the whole way and never take a single step on our own!You always play with six out of twelve different animal species and you can place the giant game board in four different combinations. On a turn you draft 2-3 cards of different animal types from the top of their face-up decks then you play as many animal cards as you like of a single type. Each animal provides a different type of movement or interaction with you with ants carrying you along in a chain and the elephant throwing you with its trunk.Fast Sloths is a game free from randomness that evolves only through the interaction between the players doing so without any take that mechanisms — except for you snatching an animal from under the other players' noses because you need to use it yourself. Each race offers new challenges for you to get to the different trees faster than the other sloths. Enjoy all 256 different combinations each with countless starting positions of the animals on the game board...and we are already working on new game boards and more animals for even more fun combinations!

In Namiji you are fishers from the Japan of yesteryear navigating south of the Japanese archipelago a few kilometers from the famous Tokaido road. You will need to have a fruitful day at sea to win the game.To do this you will have the opportunity to contemplate magnificent marine species to fish with a line or a net to fill your racks with colorful fish and haul in your crustacean traps. You can benefit from stops to improve your fishing equipment and you will also have to contend with the gods of the sea by setting offerings afloat or by fulfilling their wishes that they express during your contemplation with the Sacred Rocks for which they will reward you.Namiji features gameplay similar to Tokaido. The action spaces are laid out on the game board in a linear track with players advancing down this track to take actions. The player who is currently last on the track takes a turn by advancing forward on the track to their desired action and taking that action so players must choose whether to advance slowly in order to get more turns or to travel more rapidly to beat other players to their desired action spaces. What players are doing on the track differs from what they do in Tokaido.

After returning to your own country you and the other players have gotten together to try to recall the map of either Kyoto or Singapore (depending on the game board you choose). You need to piece together the scenery of the map using fragments of your memories with you earning bonus points if your memory matches that of the main board and other players. In the game each player has an individual image board while everyone shares a common map board. Each of the twelve rounds of the game starts with the revelation of a memory card which shows one of six patterns that players can build on their image board with image tokens that they draft. Over multiple rounds you'll compile image tokens next to one another and if you have the right tokens in the right shape you suddenly remember the building that matches the shape and image placing that building on the shared common map and scoring points for it. You can additionally score points for completing buildings with image tokens that match buildings remembered by others i.e. that they placed on the common board earlier. You've now remembered that building too! Each player also has objective cards and photo memory cards and you can score points for satisfying them. If you can't fit all of your image fragments into play you lose points for scattered thoughts. For more difficult play you can use the 7x6 area on the Kyoto or Singapore game board instead of the regular 7x7 area.

In Africana players travel through Africa taking part in expeditions and trying to be the first to reach various destinations. With the money they earn they can buy adventure cards that earn them precious antiques. Africana features the Book of Adventures game system from Schacht's Valdora in which players can acquire cards that are laid out like books with players turning the pages to find the adventure cards they most want. The game board in Africana shows the continent divided in half at the equator with the cities in the north half colored brown and the cities in the south white. Adventure cards with a brown border can be acquired only in the south and must be delivered to the north while white-bordered adventure cards take the opposite route. Five expedition cards – each showing the starting and ending location and a reward for completing the expedition – are laid face-up on the game board. Each player has one researcher token that will travel around the board and on a turn a player takes one of three possible actions:When a player reaches the destination shown on an adventure card that player scores that card by placing it under his player mat. Some cards show helpers which are represented by helper cards in a player's hand. These cards allow travel on the color shown on the card and return to the player's hand after use but a player who employs many helps will lose points at the end of the game.Once the expedition cards run out the game ends and players score for the expeditions they completed sets of identical and different adventure cards money in hand and a few other things. The player with the most points wins!
Around the end of the 19th century a growing network of railway lines was built in Europe allowing people to travel to the major cities to visit beautiful structures influenced by Art Nouveau and Historicism. In Free Ride you are one of several people in charge of building railway lines connecting the cities in Europe and carrying passengers to those cities. The game board shows 45 cities connected by a network of potential routes and all railway lines built will be one of three types: lines owned by you lines owned by fellow players and state-owned lines. When you travel along railway lines you pay nothing to travel on your lines and state-owned lines. To travel on a fellow player’s line however you must pay them 1 coin which converts their line to state-owned. From then on traveling on that line is free for all players. As coins are limited you should carefully balance the building of your lines with the conversion of fellow players' lines to state-owned lines.Where do you want to build? At the start of play each player drafts part of a travel route. Multiple travel routes are available for choosing and each travel route consists of three cards. When you choose a route you take either the first and second cards or the second and third cards as your starting and ending point (in that order). Return the unchosen card of that route to the box.Once the third deck is empty you can either withdraw from the game with uncompleted routes (returning those cards to the box) or keep taking turns until you finish all your routes at which point you immediately gain 1 coin and withdraw. In either situation you earn 1 coin (and do nothing else) on each subsequent turn. Once all players have withdrawn you tally your score earning 3 points for each coin 5 points for the first card you have of a city and 2 points for each other card you have of a city. (Each of the 45 cities appears once in each of the three decks.) Whoever has the most points wins.Free Ride also offers a difficult solo challenge!

Sunlight glaring through the windshield. Your favorite songs blasting through the speakers. Candy bar wrappers piled next to a warm drink in the cheap plastic cupholder. Your companion riding in the passenger seat snapping pictures of landmarks as you settle into the hypnotic rhythm of the road. But be careful as this fun road trip could get dangerous as you drive through Death Valley.Death Valley is a pocket-sized push-your-luck tableau-building game for 1-2 players with each traveler striving to assemble the best mix of cards in their journey and scrapbook in order to win the game. Each turn players choose whether to assign a card to their journey or move cards from their journey to their scrapbook. Cards feature stars (points) special abilities (which affect the value and position of cards) and some interesting facts about Death Valley. Each card also lists a hazard: heat terrain flood or animals. Having three of the same hazard visible in their tableau causes the player to bust and lose all the progress in their journey. At the end of the game players sum the stars in their journey and any additional points from card abilities to determine who wins.Death Valley was a top-three finalist in Button Shy's 18-Card Challenge: Design a game about a real life location.
In The Cave a board game from K2 author Adam Kałuża players take on the role of a speleologist team tasked with exploring a newly discovered cave. Players start from a base and explore a cave tunnel after tunnel effectively building the board (the cave). They have to overcome steep descents underground lakes and tight squeezes. They will be given a chance to admire the wonders of the underground like halls full of stalactites. To make it all possible they must take the right supplies with them like ropes oxygen and batteries. Each turn players have five action points to use for moving discovering new cave tiles exploring them and packing their backpacks when they go back to the starting base. They need ropes for descents oxygen to explore underwater parts and a camera to photograph underground wonders. Planning what to take with them is one of the most important things in the game. Each turn that their pawn is not in the starting base players must use (i.e. throw out) one basic supply from their backpack; these costs along with the expenditure of other supplies during exploration forces them to return to the starting base a few times during the game. To keep them from having to carry everything though players can raise a camp somewhere in the tunnels where they can store some of the equipment. The cave differs every game so players have to be prepared for everything or they will lose time. Players earn points for exploring different tiles: underwater wondrous descents and so on – but to win they'll need to acquire bonus prizes for exploring the most tiles of each type. This make decision-making during trips very difficult. When the cave is fully explored the player who made the biggest effort in the most spectacular way wins the game.

Game description from the publisher:Europe at the start of the 20th century: Foreign cultures and their artifacts have a strong appeal for archeologists and its in that role that players try to increase their knowledge in order to equip and conduct expeditions to Egypt Mesopotamia Crete and Greece. Glory and esteem are waiting!Thebes: The Tomb Raiders is a card game version of the Thebes board game from designer Peter Prinz and Queen Games. The game dispenses with the map of Thebes but retains many of the main aspects of the game. The main turn-order play of the game is based on the time-track; players must spend time to take actions with varying amounts of time spent dependent on the nature and benefits of the action. The player who is furthest back in time is the active player. Players use actions to gain knowledge about five civilizations and then use this knowledge in different actions to dig to pull cards from a civilization's deck that contains treasures and dirt. The more knowledge a player has about a civilization the more efficient the player is at searching for treasures. The game plays over a certain span of time and when all players can no longer take any actions because they are out of time the game is at an end and the player with the highest score from their accumulated treasures wins.

At the time China was divided into seven kingdoms fighting each other constantly and people were living in suffering. The regions they can write in are restricted by cards turned up in the middle of the table.New abilities to take riverboats and ferries will help you tour the city and become a jazz legend. At the end of the game each player draws a route on their map starting with a low number and visiting adjacent locations with higher and higher numbers. Players get a point for every venue they visit.-description from publisher

You’ll need absolute effiency in this quick “Pick up and Deliver” game of balancing speed and maximum capacity. Don’t get too distracted dropping off passengers because your opponents might beat you to the bus stop or change your route through road construction! In BUS each player controls a bus card and will navigate it throughout the city grid. A player's maximum speed which is the number of street spaces he may move is 5. When a player stops at a Bus Stop he may pick up a customer card which contains 2 different customers. The customer card's point value directly correlates to the speed in which a bus' movement is reduced to when carrying the customer card. Once a bus moves through a space with a customers' destination the customer on the card is considered delivered. Two street tiles may be swapped if the construction space is used and a player may hold several customer cards for maximum efficiency. The end game is triggered once a player has completed 5 customer cards and the bus driver with the most points wins!Number 8 in the Pack O Game series.
You and the other players work at Loop Incorporated the most prestigious time travel agency in the world. Well that’s not entirely true. It’s a mismanaged third-tier agency owned by the slick Mr. Loop who cares more about making a buck than making sure the delicate weave of the time-space continuum stays tight and safe. For you and your coworkers it’s as good as job as any and if you time things just right you may even get a nice bonus at the end of the day. And since you have a time machine you can take multiple cracks at it… assuming things don’t get too chaotic with your past selves running around.Loop Inc. is played over the course of three days with each day actually being the same day but a different time through it. During the first day players will get to perform three actions and send out their one time machine. Actions include gathering components setting up advertising and more. Then at the end of the day players jump into their time machines and return to the beginning to start the day over again. The catch is when players go back in time to try the day again their past selves are still running around. This means they’ll have to perform all the actions from the previous version of the day as well as three new ones. They’ll also have an additional ship to launch. On the third try things compound even further...making timing key. At the end of the third day the player who completed the most profitable trips wins provided they didn’t cause too many tears in the space time continuum.
“All hope abandon ye who enter here. Welcome to the grimdark. Welcome to DAYNIGHTZ™”Dawn breaks on the refuge and the sunrays bring you the feared news…the day has come the day to go back to the city. When this damned thing started you joined a group of survivors that had gathered in the woods fleeing from the city. With tremendous effort you erected a makeshift refuge to fend off the foul creatures waiting for the army to come and save you. However help is not coming you know that now. And so do the traitors who quietly left the refuge last night taking most of the remaining supplies with them. Now you are forced to go back to the city: It’s the only option if you want to survive another day…This is the starting point of DAYNIGHTZ™. You get to pick a group of up to 4 survivors each with its own character sheet that shows its attributes and abilities a backpack and some equipment. Now you’re ready to start your adventure in a nightmare world where the dead rule above the living. That depends on the game mode chosen:-> In campaign mode you will have to brave narrative missions where you will have to fight and take difficult decisions that will determine your progress culminating in one of three possible endings. -> In survival mode you will roam from city to city with complete freedom to do whatever it takes to survive another day on this hell on earth. The game is divided in 3 segments: Adventure Phase Travel Phase and Refuge Phase.1) Adventure Phase: This is the most important phase of the game. In it players will roam the streets and alleys of the city exploring locales suffering encounters and generally trying to keep a low profile while striving to achieve their goals (established by the campaign mission in the campaign mode or by their own interests in the survival mode). One of the many things that set DAYNIGHTZ™ apart from other games is that is played on TWO LEVELS. What does that mean?On one hand there is the City board consisting of a labyrinth of streets alleys surprise zones and locations. On the other hand whenever the players want to explore a certain location or due to the triggering of events and conditions players will lay out tiles to represent that particular location. Each location has its own set of tiles depending on its nature. For example the Firemen Park location consists of the parking tile the locker room tile and the offices tile.2) Travel Phase: Once the Adventure Phase is finished survivors will have to trudge back to their refuge with their meager loot. In this phase survivors will have to face different situations like zombie encounters coming across abandoned structures (farms etc) and being assaulted by other survivor groups.3) Refuge Phase: This is a management phase where survivors will have to handle upgrade and defend their base. While in the refuge survivors can do a lot of stuff: recover from their wounds/infections level up stock supplies farm food upgrade the refuge’s defenses…The refuge though will be attacked regularly by either roamer’s packs or other survivor groups who can also steal and sabotage your base. That is more likely to happen if you’re away for extended periods so try to do your city supply runs as fast as possible…DAYNIGHTZ™ is based on a double profile system for both the zombies and the survivors: during the day zombies use their worse profile while during the night zombie use their better profile and survivors will use their worse profile unless they’re equipped with a light source…which are obviously very scarce and run out very fast! The day and night cycle is controlled through a timetable located on the City board. On top of that other elements can make the brave survivor’s life even more difficult:- Threat Counter: Consists of a counter that increases as a result of diverse things happening like survivors making noise environmental effects zombies amassing etc. The higher the Threat counter the higher the risk the survivors are taking by staying in the city.- Threat Encounters: Each end of turn you will verify the conditions stated in a card. If you meet the conditions you will suffer a Threat encounter. That might not happen very frequently but…beware when it does happen!- The Hunter: The Hunter is the most dangerous zombie in the game. Luckily it only appears at night; unfortunately when it appears it will attack all the survivors who are out in the open (in streets and alleys). So keep this in mind: you don’t want to be wandering around in the open at night!- Survivor’s health and stress: DAYNIGHTZ™ is a very realistic game. Thus the more wounded your survivor is the more difficult it will be for him/her to accomplish actions (in combat or out of it). Also your survivor will be able to do less actions the more wounded he/she is. Stress is also key as your survivor will be affected by events depending on their stress level which can also impact on their attribute checks.- Infection: Survivors can get infected when wounded by a zombies while searching corpses or by other special effects. Once infected the disease will deteriorate the survivor and if not treated will end up killing him/her. Of course the infection will be more easily neutered in its early stages; the more you wait the harder it will be to remove it. While infected your survivor will periodically succumb to its effects which can make them bleed make them slower etc.To help them deal with the situations that they will find themselves in the survivors can use a lot of items that they will find in their city wanderings. However all said items will either need consumables in order to function or will wear away with use…The players will also encounter other survivors and animals during their travels which depending on the decisions previously taken and the success in the encounters can join their group as allies. Allies can give a series of bonuses to the survivors but will not remain with them forever: allies have their own loyalty system which depends on the actions taken by the players. The way you treat them will determine how they treat you!All the points above plus others that you will discover during gameplay set DAYNIGHTZ™ apart from other zombie-themed games. We have worked really hard to achieve an immersive experience exploring the dark themes of the zombie apocalypse and we welcome you.PS: If you want to keep with all the info about the game you can follow us in:

Listen pals. We did not fight the Void to make Lumen even brighter. The flying citadel has proven worthless profiting from scrolls and abandoning us to our empty fate. Can't you figure out the Eternals on their terrace eating grapes and enjoying the show we put on against the Seraphs? Guess what? we mortals survived and pushed back the Void. We have shown the Seraphs the door. What about the Eternals now? - Commonly heard in Gon'Mar Taverns -Fall of Lumen is a stand-alone tabletop game based on deck-building and tableau building. It is a follow-up of Legends of Void. The Void battles have ended. The Outer Lands are devastated after years of battles against the Seraphs and the people are happy to return to a peaceful time and rebuild their houses and society. But a small group of rebels is sick of the citadel of Lumen and works in the shadows to free the Outer Lands from its dictatorship. Their plan is as simple as it will be effective. Bring back the Keepers that once saved the world from the Nihil of the Pale Night and sneak them into the flying citadel as incognito agents. You play a rebel Hero, an ex-Keeper banned from the Outer Lands long ago. Now you are back thanks to the dimensional fracture caused by the Void. You'll rescue comrades from the Inner Worlds where the Eternals the founders of Lumen banished all of you. You will infiltrate Keepers into Lumen to take power back until the flying citadel becomes the falling one. You will be supported by a Faction which shares your cause against the Eternals and compete with the other Heroes to be the most influential Hero the one who has infiltrated the most Agents on Lumen. You will move your Hero across the Outer Lands and spend their skills to gather resources such as Gold Mana Mithril Dark Matter and Genasi. Using these resources you will acquire traits learn spells buy trinkets retrieve artifacts and hire followers to help your cause and improve your skills. Finally with enough skills you can restore the dimensional connection to an Inner World and bring back a Keeper stuck there. To unlock a portal and reach an Inner World you need a different combination of skills: Deception Wit Fighting Wizardry and Void (the most precious and versatile skill). As the game gets closer to the end your interest will switch from rescuing Keepers from the Inner Worlds to sneaking them onto Lumen which is the goal of the game and the greatest source of victory points. You can infiltrate a saboteur in any of the five districts of Lumen: Informers Engineers Fighters Wizards and Voyagers. Each saboteur will grant you a recurring or immediate income and victory points. The game will feature a Solo mode and a 2-player cooperative variant. Fall of Lumen has No Take That elements. The interaction between players is indirect. It mainly comes from solving challenges market acquisitions and timing the infiltration of Agents on Lumen. The more saboteurs are on a District Window of Lumen the higher the cost to send a new one. Our estimated complexity is 3.2 on the BGG scale (max 5.0).—description from the publisher
Join this expedition and you will have the unforgettable opportunity to explore Sumatra from the top of its majestic volcanoes to the depths of its tropical rainforest. Find the most exotic animals and the most exuberant flowers and discover the endless variety of cultures that coexist on the largest island in Indonesia. Your expedition sets out with the mission of writing a travel notebook that will help raise awareness of one of the richest ecosystems in the world. Whoever makes the best contribution to this exciting mission will win.In Sumatra players move around the island to explore its multiple landscapes. On a turn your possible actions depend on where you're located in relation to the travel notebook token that starts the game in base camp with all the players:Thus you're catching up with the group researching with the group to add info to your notebook moving ahead or digging into new tiles ahead of everyone else.Tiles score and have effects in various ways for example with players gaining or losing points for meeting the most or fewest inhabitants. Flora and fauna tiles score only if you have a pair in a column but only the highest-valued of this pair scores. Villages score only if you have more pairs of reception and GPS tiles than the number of villages while the reception and GPS pairs net you no points but allow you to get a tile from the pool of known information. Equipment makes it safe to explore volcanoes on the island and if you don't have enough equipment you might lose other tiles you've collected.Sumatra also includes badges that players can collect. Be the first to collect say three flora tiles or a combination of two inhabitant and two craft tiles and you can claim the badge for this which is worth 3 points at game's end. You can also claim one diversity badge for having at least one tile in at least six rows of your notebook. The more rows you have a presence in the higher the value of the diversity badge but you can claim at most one during the game — and if someone else claims the six-row badge then you'll need to have a tile in at least seven rows for the next one...•••Únete a esta expedición y descubre Sumatra desde la cima de sus majestuosos volcanes hasta las profundidades de su selva.
